Quick Pizza Dip
Need a quick dip idea for the holidays? Want something new? Try this Pizza Dip. We used to take this to the high school when my husband was helping with a Bible study. The school obeyed the law and allowed for students to elect Bible study as a class, but they had to take it during lunch. So I often made this. Everyone looked forward to this treat. This is an easy dip. It is SO tasty - who doesn't love pizza, right? Great for game day or movie night. Also great when the kids bring over their friends. Keep the ingredients on had to whip this up anytime.
- 8 oz container soft cream cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 C mozzarella cheese, divided
- 1/2 C pizza sauce
- 2 TB diced red bell pepper
- 2 TB diced green bell pepper
- 1 pkg garlic sticks (garlic or plain)
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Beat the soft cream cheese and the Italian seasoning with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended.
Spread in a 9-inch pie plate.
Layer toppings as follows: 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, the pizza sauce, then the other one cup of mozzarella cheese and the peppers.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until mixture is thoroughly heated and cheese is melted.
Serve with breadsticks.
We always doubled this recipe and made it in a 9 x 13 stone baker or glass baking dish. Change the bake time to 25 minutes. Watch that the cheese doesn't scorch.
