National Buffet Day

January 2nd is National Buffet Day. While you can go out to eat at a buffet, I am thinking you might have a bunch of leftover food in your fridge from the New Year’s holiday that you could turn into a home buffet.
Leftover ham can be turned into a spread or it can be skewered with cheese cubes and cherry tomatoes, if you have them. Or olives, if you like them.
A few bratwurst can be sliced and put on bite-sized pretzel rolls or even leftover buns – just make them bite-sized.
Leftover baked potatoes can be turned into twice baked potatoes. Or, you can reheat them, then smash them and add whatever you normally add for mashed potatoes. These are called smashed potatoes. You could even stir in roasted garlic or cheese.
Let your imagination run wild and use up the food in your fridge, freezer, and pantry. You could even set it up all pretty like a snack buffet at a catered event. Have Fun!! Get the kids involved, too. I’m sure they’d think it is fun to skewer the food. It’s great practice in doing things in order.
Remember to post pics on social media!!
